The surrounding area boasts several sheltered bays, all within easy walking distance, offering safe swimming, wonderful snorkeling as well as scuba diving opportunities. Windmill beach is a popular diving spot offering easy shore diving amongst the spectacular kelp forests. Boat trips, scuba diving, kayaking and stand up paddling are all available from local operators. There are many beautiful walks and trails along the coast or up on the mountainside, and the Simon’s Town golf course is directly across the road!

Cape Point Nature Reserve, the southern tip of Africa where the Atlantic and Indian Oceans collide, is a short, scenic drive away. Many whales return to False bay in the winter months to calve and offer spectacular viewing. Simon’s Town is South Africa’s main naval base, and visitors can visit the Naval Museum as well as browse it's quaint shops, coffee shops and restaurants.
